• Description: Sponsors multiple outreach and prevention programs to CSU Chico students and the community. Alcohol prevention campaigns educate students about the signs and symptoms of alcohol poisoning and what to do in the event of such an emergency. Wallet-sized alcohol poisoning cards are distributed to all first year students at events and at CADEC peer educator programs. Assessment-- A trained professional in alcohol and drug studies meets individually with students to determine if the student has a substance or alcohol abuse problem. After the assessment an appropriate referral is made. Free interactive workshops designed to help first-year students be successful in college are offered. Workshops cover a variety of adjustment to college issues including: alcohol & high risk drinking, sexual responsibility, time management, study skills, nutrition, homesickness and personal stress issues.
